Art Lunch & After-school Clubs at Alma Primary School, Whetstone N20

We are currently running a Lunch club and an After-school club at Alma Primary School, where I design and deliver weekly art enrichment sessions that support the school’s creative vision and values.

Run by our best Art teacher, Liron Moyal;

Our work integrates artistic skill-building with emotional development, fostering a nurturing space where children can explore, express, and thrive.

Each session is thoughtfully structured to include:

  • A mindful welcome activity to support smooth transitions and focus

  • An engaging introduction to a theme or technique, often linked to seasonal topics, cultural celebrations, or curriculum themes.

  • Hands-on creative work using quality materials, encouraging both guided exploration and independent artistic choices

  • Reflection time and collaborative clean-up, promoting self-awareness, communication, and responsibility

Projects vary across the year and may include:

  • Mixed media self-portraits

  • Process-based abstract works

  • Collage and construction using recycled and natural materials

  • Watercolour and printmaking techniques

  • Thematic pieces linked to Jewish festivals or values explored in school

Liron's teaching is grounded in safeguarding awareness, inclusivity, and a trauma-informed, emotionally intelligent approach.

She holds a DBS full check and is fully trained in safeguarding, with over 15 years' experience teaching art to children in primary school.

The art enrichment program at Alma is not only a space for skill development—it is a space for wellbeing, expression, and joy. I work closely with staff and SLT to ensure the sessions align with the school’s ethos, and I am proud to be part of nurturing Alma’s students' creative confidence.
