Inspiring Creativity & Building Confidence Through Art
At Lavender Print Art Studio, we believe that art is more than just creativity—it’s a powerful tool for self-expression, confidence-building, and personal growth.
Our After-School Art Clubs and Lunch Clubs are designed to ignite imagination, teach artistic techniques, and encourage children to explore their unique creative voices.
Through hands-on projects, students learn not only how to work with various materials but also how to set goals, embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, and develop resilience and self-belief.
We also offer Special Art Projects tailored for end-of-year events, school fairs, and community celebrations. These immersive experiences, such as Graffiti Art and Tie-Dye Workshops and more projects, provide unforgettable memories, bringing art to life in vibrant and interactive ways.
Our projects are perfect for creating lasting moments that celebrate creativity and unity within the school community.

My Approach to Teaching Art
As an artist and educator, I believe that art is a powerful tool for self-expression, emotional growth, and building confidence. I create calm, inclusive, and inspiring spaces where children feel safe, curious, and proud of what they make.
With over 15 years of experience teaching art to children aged 5 to 16, I bring a trauma-informed, child-centered approach to every session I lead. My goal is always to nurture creativity while respecting each child’s individual voice and needs.
What My Art Classes Look Like
Each art session is designed to balance structure, creative freedom, and emotional awareness. A typical session includes:
1. Welcome and Settling In
Children are greeted warmly and invited to begin with a mindful or quiet drawing activity. This helps ground the group and ease transitions.
2. Introduction to the Theme or Technique
I introduce the focus of the day with visual examples and open discussion. Children are encouraged to share their thoughts and connect the theme to their own experiences.
3. Hands-On Art-Making
Using high-quality materials, children explore the theme through guided art-making. I offer gentle instruction and individual support, ensuring all children feel seen and capable.
Recent session themes have included:
-
Self-portraits using mirrors and colored pencils
-
Abstract art inspired by music
-
Imaginary creatures with mixed media
-
Watercolour landscapes with wax resist
-
College with positive affirmations
4. Reflection and Clean-Up
We end by inviting voluntary sharing and reflection. Children often describe what they enjoyed or discovered. We clean up together, reinforcing responsibility and care for the space.
My Commitment to Safeguarding and Wellbeing
I am fully DBS-checked and safeguarding trained. In every setting I teach, I work closely with school staff to prioritise children’s wellbeing. I follow strict guidelines for conduct and communication, and I am always transparent about how I manage the classroom environment.
-
All physical contact (e.g., assisting with materials) is minimal, respectful, and clearly communicated.
-
I never work one-to-one in private spaces.
-
Any concerns are raised promptly and discreetly with staff.
-
I always speak to children in a respectful, age-appropriate, and positive tone.
Personal Reflection
I am deeply committed to creating a space where children feel safe, valued, and inspired. My teaching blends creativity with emotional awareness, and I continually reflect on how to support each child better.
If you’re a school or parent looking for a thoughtful, experienced art educator, I’d be happy to connect and share more about how I work.
